Performs as an (RN) Nurse in the Mercy Virtual triage program in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, and Mercy rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, and performs all duties assigned by Medical Director, in the vAcute program, concerning patients and their care. These duties differ according to the assigned areas and range from education to care coordination. vAcute provides care on a 24-hour basis. Specialty may be OBGYN or Pediatrics.
Position Details:
Education: Graduation from registered nursing program and bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN).
Experience: Minimum of 5 years diversified direct clinical experience in nursing required.
Licensure: Must have a License in state of practice or be eligible for License in state of practice and eligible for other state licensure.
Certification: BLS Certification within 6 months of hire.
OBGYN Specialty Requirements:
Previous Labor and Delivery, Post Partum, Women's Health, Women's Evaluation Unit, Family Medicine, or OBGYN office experience preferred.
Preferred experience: Women's Evaluation Unit, OBGY office or Labor and Delivery Unit
Pediatrics Specialty Requirements:
Previous PICU, Pediatric Stepdown, Pediatric Urgent Care, Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine Experience.
Preferred experience: PICU, Stepdown, Family Medicine, Urgent Care/Pediatric Urgent Care, or Pediatric Emergency Medicine
General Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Work requires analytical skills and knowledge of complex OBGYN patients, anatomy, etc.
- Must possess excellent communication skills with patient and family both over the phone and on video.
- Must possess interpersonal skills to interact effectively with coworkers and other medical staff in a virtual care setting.
- Ability to monitor multiple patients and work within a treatment team that focus on care for the patients.
- Ability to work seek out and with resources to assist with culturally diverse populations when necessary.
- Broad-based knowledge and clinical expertise in assessing, analyzing, intervening, and evaluating patient care. Ability to work in stressful environment ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, function within an ever-changing environment, coordinate services for multiple patients with a variety of ages and diagnoses.
- Be a team leader with the ability to direct patient health care needs.
- Must possess the ability to concentrate for long periods of time, work well under stress and the ability to think and react quickly in emergencies.
