Credentialed Veterinary Technicians don't come along every day — and we know it. We're looking for a compassionate, experienced Certified Veterinary Technician to join an ER/ICU team that values your skills, respects your expertise, and gives you the tools to actually use them. This is a hands-on role where your skills and experience will be put to real use — patient care, treatment support, anesthesia, surgery assisting, and everything in between.
Daytime ICU keeps you hands-on with hospitalized patients through every stage of recovery, working alongside a full team of veterinarians and specialists to fine-tune care in real time — and building deep critical care skills as you watch patients improve day to day.
And it's not just cats and dogs. At VCA CAVES, we partner with local wildlife rescuers and rehabilitators, treating hawks, eagles, owls, turtles, fawns, opossums, wild turkeys, porcupines, snakes, and more. If you're ready to be a well-rounded veterinary technician, CAVES is the place for you
Compensation: $25.00 - $37.00 / hr based on skill set, experience and licensure status.
Schedule: Full-time, (3) 12s Thursday, Friday Saturday

What You'll Do
Whether you're a credentialed veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT) or a technician in training, we want you using every skill you've worked hard to build:
Certified Veterinary Technician Skills, ER/ICU
- Triages incoming emergency patients throughout the day, assessing severity and prioritizing care alongside a full veterinary team
- Monitors hospitalized ICU patients continuously, tracking vitals and recognizing early signs of change across multiple ongoing cases
- Places IV catheters, draws blood, and manages fluid therapy and CRIs for critical and recovering patients
- Assists with stabilization and treatment plans, adjusting care in real time as patients progress through recovery
- Administers medications accurately per veterinarian orders, including controlled substances, with careful documentation
- Performs and assists with diagnostics — radiographs, blood work, and point-of-care testing — supporting the full specialty team's decision-making
- Manages recumbent and long-term ICU patients, including turning, padding, bladder management, and nutritional support
- Collaborates closely with veterinarians, specialists, and fellow technicians throughout the day to coordinate complex, evolving cases
- Provides care for local wildlife patients in partnership with area rescuers and rehabilitators — from hawks and owls to turtles, fawns, and more
- Communicates clearly with the care team and outgoing/incoming shifts to ensure smooth, well-documented patient handoffs
As a CVT at VCA CAVES, you'll work in a fast-paced, 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital in Concord, NH, gaining hands-on experience across emergency/critical care, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, neurology and surgery. Our AAHA-accredited hospital was established in 2002 and has built a reputation for excellence, high-quality patient care, and a collaborative, team-based approach to medicine.
You'll work alongside board-certified specialists and a dedicated emergency team, tackling complex and high-acuity cases using state-of-the-art technology in a hospital that values communication and teamwork as much as clinical skill. It's an environment built for CVTs who want to keep learning, stay challenged, and grow their technical skills in emergency and specialty medicine.
We're looking for someone positive, motivated, and ready to bring ideas to the table — our team meets frequently, and your input genuinely shapes how we grow. We protect our culture fiercely, and that means hiring people with the determination to rise above obstacles, wear multiple hats, and show up for their team.

Why VCA
VCA is one of the largest networks of animal hospitals in the country — but you'd never know it from the way we operate. Every hospital keeps its own identity, its own team, and its own culture, while giving you access to the resources, mentorship, and career opportunities of a national organization behind you. You get the best of both: the tight-knit feel of a local practice and the backing, benefits, and growth potential of an industry leader.
We're genuinely invested in your career — not just your job. From continuing education to credential support to nationwide transfer opportunities if life takes you somewhere new, we build the kind of support system that helps technicians build real, lasting careers, not just punch a clock. This is a place where your work is seen, your growth is prioritized, and your future in this field actually matters to us.
