Job Description:
A Cross Dock Forklift Operator is a forklift driver who moves freight directly from incoming trucks to outgoing trucks or staging areas with little or no long-term storage in a warehouse.
Their primary goal is to keep products moving quickly through the distribution center.
Responsibilities include:
- Loading and unloading trailers using a forklift.
- Moving pallets from receiving docks to shipping docks.
- Staging freight for immediate outbound shipment.
- Verifying pallet labels, quantities, and destinations.
- Inspecting products for damage.
- Using RF scanners or warehouse management systems to track inventory.
- Following safety procedures and maintaining a clean work area.
- Meeting productivity and shipping deadlines.
Skills required:
- Certified forklift operation
- Experience in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (if required by the employer).
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
