Emergency and Critical Care Veterinary Technician at VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center
Compensation:
Starting range is determined by license, skill set, and years of experience in the field. Financial growth opportunities available.
Schedule: Full-time opportunity, Swing/2nd shift, 2 pm -12 am.
This is an exciting opportunity for a technician who enjoys utilizing advanced technical skills, critical thinking, and compassionate nursing care in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.
In This Role, You Will:
Provide exceptional nursing care to emergency and critically ill patients.
Collaborate closely with ER Doctors, Specialists, and fellow technicians.
Perform triage assessments and assist with patient stabilization.
Utilize advanced technical skills including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, diagnostic imaging, laboratory diagnostics, oxygen therapy, and blood transfusion support.
Monitor hospitalized and ICU patients, recognizing subtle changes in patient status and communicating findings to the medical team.
Assist with emergency procedures and advanced treatments.
Educate clients and provide clear discharge instructions.
Help create a positive, collaborative environment focused on outstanding patient care.
Qualifications:
Registered Veterinary Technician (CVT) or eligible to sit for the VTNE.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced and often high-stress environment
