VCA Mueller Pet Medical Center is a 24-hour AAHA-accredited hybrid General Practice and Emergency hospital seeking an experiencedRegistered Veterinary Technician (RVT)to join our Emergency team.
This role is ideal for an RVT who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys emergency and surgical nursing, and is passionate about providing exceptional patient care during some of the hospital's busiest hours. You'll work alongside a collaborative team of Emergency veterinarians, technicians, and assistants caring for a diverse caseload ranging from urgent medical concerns to critical emergencies requiring advanced nursing care.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for an RVT who:
Holds a current California Registered Veterinary Technician license
Thrives in a fast-paced emergency environment
Demonstrates excellent critical thinking and patient assessment skills
Enjoys anesthesia, surgery, and advanced nursing care
Works collaboratively with doctors and teammates while maintaining a positive attitude
Is dependable, adaptable, and committed to delivering exceptional patient care
Surgical and anesthesia experience is strongly preferred.
What You'll Do
Our Emergency RVTs play a vital role in patient care by:
Performing patient triage and nursing assessments
Calculating, preparing, and administering medications and CRIs
Monitoring anesthesia and assisting with emergency and urgent surgical procedures
Performing CPR and participating in life-saving emergency interventions
Providing advanced nursing care for hospitalized and critical patients
Performing venipuncture, catheter placement, laboratory sample collection, and diagnostic testing
Obtaining radiographs and assisting with advanced diagnostics
Monitoring patient recovery and pain management
Educating clients and facilitating patient discharges
Collaborating closely with Emergency, Surgery, ICU, and ICW teams to provide seamless patient care
