CDL Class A Truck Driver
Entrepreneurial, growing, and reputable Steel Fabricating and Installation Company has an opportunity for you to use your experience as a CDL Class A local driver and to contribute to the strategic development of this organization. The CDL A Truck Driver will drive a variety of heavy and light duty trucks safely and efficiently delivering and picking up materials and equipment. Local routes, home every night. The CDL A driver must be available to work every other weekend.
Must be available to work every other weekend / Home Every Night / Great Pay Starting at $28.00 per hour and Depending on Experience
Responsibilities:
Transport materials and equipment from the place of origin to assigned destination.
Pick-up and drop off flatbed loads and organize goods in an ordered, logical manner.
Ensure contents are properly secured inside of the truck.
Safely and efficiently handle and unload goods at selected destinations.
Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries with vendors, and clients.
Stay on a predetermined route and ensure timely deliveries.
Communicate with Operations as needed.
Confirm contents of each shipment load matches the manifest document.
Perform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip.
Check weather conditions and road reports before departure.
Maintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, change oil, tire pressure)
Qualifications:
Must be at least Twenty-Three (23) years of age.
High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
Valid Class A driver's license required.
Two (2) + years proven experience with tractor-trailer and flatbed driving preferred.
Clean driving record with no moving violations.
Must pass a background check.
Ability in driving heavy, flatbed and light trucks.
Comfortable maneuvering and parking a tractor-trailer.
Alert, focused, and detail oriented.
Ability to lift 75 lbs. at a time.
Able to operate an electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.
Proficient in using GPS and other routing systems.
An innate sense of direction.
Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful.
High level of composure and good stress management.
