Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners for an exciting Hospital Medicine opportunity at a newly opened acute care hospital in Washington, DC.
This is a rare opportunity to join a growing Hospital Medicine program within one of the newest hospitals in the Mid-Atlantic region. Providers will work alongside dedicated Hospitalist physicians in a collaborative inpatient environment supported by 24/7 intensivist coverage, strong specialist access, modern clinical infrastructure, and Oracle Health (Cerner) EMR.
Unlike many traditional Hospitalist NP assignments, this opportunity offers a highly supportive practice model focused on inpatient medicine, care coordination, admissions support, and multidisciplinary collaboration within a closed ICU environment where procedures are not required.

Hospital Medicine Coverage Model
Day Team
- 2 Hospitalist Physicians
- 1 Hospital Medicine Nurse Practitioner
- 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Night Team
- 1 Hospitalist Physician
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Clinical Responsibilities
- Collaborative inpatient management
- Admissions support
- Patient progression and discharge planning
- Care coordination across multidisciplinary teams
- Communication with consulting services
- Participation in Rapid Response activities
- Collaboration with Hospitalist physicians and specialists
- Oracle Health (Cerner) documentation and order management
Procedures are not required.
ICU physicians manage ICU procedures and critical care interventions.
Practice Profile
- Approximately 41 Average Daily Service Census
- Supported by 2 Hospitalists and 1 APP during daytime coverage
- Approximately 20 patients per physician with APP support
- Average Daily Admissions: 8.8
- Average Daily Encounters: 48

Candidate Requirements
- Nurse Practitioner
- Hospital Medicine, Internal Medicine, Acute Care, Observation Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or comparable inpatient experience preferred
- Active Washington, DC License
- Strong communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
- Comfortable practicing within a physician-led Hospital Medicine team
