Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Emergency Medicine Physician Locum Tenens Opportunity
Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking Oklahoma licensed Emergency Medicine physicians for a locum tenens opportunity in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This role involves providing emergency care at a busy Level II Trauma Center with a comprehensive general patient volume and trauma cases.
Opportunity Highlights
- Emergency Medicine locum tenens position
- Approximately 75,000 annual patient visits
- Trauma Level II
- 4 trauma bays, 12 critical care rooms, and 32 monitored exam rooms (including psych)
- 4 triage stations and 7 fast-track bays
- 80 hours of physician coverage weekly, plus 36 hours of EM resident coverage and 36 hours of APP support
- EMR: Epic
- Trauma shifts include 6a-6p and 6p-6a, with additional resident and general medicine shifts
- Total coverage: 116 hours including resident shifts
- Resident shifts: Multiple shifts throughout the day and night, including 9a-9p general medicine shifts
Schedule Details
- Coverage: Ongoing, with shifts scheduled primarily from 6a-6p and 6p-6a
- Resident shifts: 6a-2p, 2p-10p, 10p-6a, and 11a-7p for general medicine, plus trauma shifts from 6a-6p and 6p-6a
Clinical Scope
- Evaluation, stabilization, treatment, and disposition of emergency cases
- Management of trauma and critical care cases within a Level II Trauma Center
- Collaboration with residents, APPs, nursing staff, and specialty consultants
- Conducting procedures in trauma bays and monitored rooms
- Documentation and order entry within Epic EMR
Requirements
- MD degree
- Active and unrestricted Oklahoma medical license
- Certifications including ACLS and PALS
- Valid DEA registration for Oklahoma
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine or equivalent training
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in trauma or Level I/II trauma centers
- Recent emergency medicine practice experience
