About the Role
The Manager, Pharmacy is responsible for the efficient and quality-focused operation of the pharmacy department. This role directs and guides the provision of pharmaceutical care, products, and service programs, ensuring consistent compliance with SelectRx policies, procedures, and all state and federal regulatory requirements. The Manager is a key leader in maintaining and enhancing customer service, satisfaction, and the professional practices of all Pharmacy Department associates, while upholding the Mission, Vision, Values, and Goals of SelectRx.
The shift for this role is 8:00am - 4:00pm OR 9:00am - 5:00pmSupervisory Responsibilities:- This position has direct supervisory responsibilities over departmental personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Leadership and Management- Direct, coordinate, and supervise all delegated pharmacy activities within the department or division.
- Responsible for the planning, coordination, and successful execution of all pharmacy operations.
- Supervise and manage departmental personnel, including: hiring, orientation, training, monitoring, workload delegation, scheduling, performance evaluation (annually or as needed with HR Manager), and initiating corrective and disciplinary actions.
- Mentor pharmacists and pharmacy management teams to increase their efficiency and productivity.
- Acts as a hands-on Pharmacy Manager overseeing onsite pharmacists performing final prescription verification in a production fulfillment environment. Maintains visibility on the floor to support operational execution, ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards, address real-time issues, and foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Maintain outstanding working relationships and foster common courtesy, professionalism, and respect among all pharmacy associates.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with the medical community served by SelectRx.
Quality, Compliance and Operations- Initiate and implement Quality Improvement initiatives for the department.
- Implement and adhere to all SelectRx policies and procedures.
- Ensure operations meet professional standards in compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations.
- Assist in the development, use, analysis, and feedback of performance measurement indicators, processes, and audits, constantly striving to exceed quality standards.
- Assist Operations with implementing audit and quality control procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Perform professional duties associated with prescription processing to meet SelectRx objectives and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
Financial and Customer Focus- Review and/or prepare various pharmacy audit/utilization reports and implement cost-saving initiatives to ensure profitable operations.
- Ensure prompt and courteous customer service by all pharmacy associates.
- Work closely with the Customer Service Department to resolve customer complaints or concerns and implement corrective action plans.
- Market the positive image of SelectRx throughout the local communities.
- Consistently maintain confidentiality regarding all clients and company information (including HIPAA) and prevent inappropriate access or distribution of sensitive data.
- Attend SelectRx meetings, including Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, Data Entry, Delivery, Administrative, and
- Organization Monthly Meetings, when planned or requested.

- Skilled at directing and motivating pharmacy staff and positively leading change to achieve results.

- Strong team player with team-building skills; ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of management, associates, clients, and the general public.
- Knowledge and understanding of all pharmacy software and robotic systems, as well as financial reports.
- Demonstrates appropriate written and oral communication skills, a high degree of interpersonal and organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
- Ability to understand and maintain confidentiality regarding patient medications and illnesses (HIPAA) and keep track of multiple tasks.
Education and Experience: - B.S. Pharmacy degree or Pharm. D. degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy
- Must hold a valid RPH license
- 5+ years of relevant pharmacy work experience
- 2+ years of demonstrable experience in a managerial capacity at a pharmacy
Physical Requirements:This position involves work in a production or warehouse environment and requires regular presence on the production floor.
The role requires:- At least 8 hours of standing and walking throughout the workday
- Frequent movement between workstations and production areas
- Reoccurring bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing stairs or ladders
- Use of hands and arms for handling, operating, or monitoring equipment
- Ability to move, position, or transport materials or products weighing up to 15 pounds, with or without assistance
- Extended periods of continuous standing at a computer or workstation
- A high level of physical activity and stamina consistent with a production-floor environment.
