WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Medical Social Worker utilizes social work expertise and clinical knowledge to educate patients on the best choices for treatment, health, and wellness when living with kidney disease to enhance quality of life. The Medical Social Worker is responsible for supporting the social and emotional well-being of patients at Satellite Healthcare. The Social Worker conducts psychosocial assessments, participates in care planning and team review of the patient's current psychosocial needs, and provides management of services to patients to assist them in coping with issues associated with chronic kidney disease and dialysis treatments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
Preferable experience in other health and human services fields. Medical experience is highly desirable.One (1) year of work experience in a behavioral or healthcare-related setting preferred.
Education:
Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited CSWE institution
License/Certifications:
MSW required. LCSW/ACSW required, LCSW preferred (CA). Licensure required in states with licensure requirements. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Requirements include:
- Must have Master's Degree in Social Work accredited by the Council of Social Work Education (CSWE).
- Current licensure in applicable state is required unless employed in the state of AZ, PA or Guam. License must be maintained as current and in good standing. (See addendum for Social Worker for minimum licensing requirements.)
- Previous experience in providing social services to dialysis patients preferred.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of the English language and ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Must have basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); proficiency in all USRC clinical applications required within 90 days of hire.
- Must meet any practice requirement(s) for the applicable state.
