Indiana University Health is hiring a Hospitalist physician (Internal Medicine) for a float position primarily covering IU Health North and West Hospitals. The role involves admitting and managing adolescent and adult inpatients, supervising APPs, collaborating with surgical services, and serving as faculty for students and residents; schedules include 7-on/7-off or traditional M–F with generous PTO. Candidates must have Internal Medicine residency, be Board Eligible/Certified, and be or become licensed in Indiana.

Position Details:
- Schedule options include: 7 on/7 off (7a-7p) or traditional schedule of M-F, no weekends, no holidays and 30 days PTO
- Primarily practice at IU Health North and West Hospitals, scheduled for one site per week on
- Key responsibilities include:admit to inpatient or appropriate level of care; perform or supervise the performance of patient care services to include history and physical examination, diagnosis, daily patient evaluation, daily progress notes, discharge evaluation, discharge summary,manage transfer calls from outside hospitals and referrals and medically manage for treatment of adolescent and adult patients.
- Support hospitalist APP's as needed for questions and unstable patients.
- No procedures are required, open and closed ICU depending on the hospital
- Faculty position working with and teaching students and Internal Medicine residents
- Medical co-management with multiple surgical services including PVS, CVS, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Urology
Qualifications
(family medicine ineligible due to IUSM Internal Medicine residency program affiliation and training)
- Residency training in ABMSInternal Medicine program
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine
- Physician licensed in Indiana or eligible for medical licensure in Indiana
