The Orthopedic Technician is a specifically trained allied health individual in the field of orthopedic medicine. Position Details: Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or equivalent GED. Licensure: None Experience: Minimum 2 years as orthopedic technician, unless certified as an OTC by the National Board of Certification of Orthopedic Technologists. Previous physician office experience. Certifications: None Other: 1. Eligible for staff privileges at hospitals where physician/surgeons work. 2. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy and medical terminology. 3. Competency in applying casts and splints and surgical technology. Preferred Qualifications: Education: Post-secondary certificate or associate's degree as orthopedic technician from a technology program Licensure: None Experience: 3 years of Orthopedic experience including casting, bracing, splinting, suture removal, pin removal, dressing changes and wound care Certifications: Certified as an OTC by the National Board of Certification Why Mercy?
