Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a range of oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures, including but not limited to complex extractions, dental implants, bone grafting, TMJ surgical and non-surgical treatment, facial pain management, benign pathology treatment, and pre-prosthetic surgery.
- Demonstrate knowledge and utilization of advanced digital systems in patient care.
- Collaborate closely with staff dentists and specialists to develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Provide oversight and mentorship to two OMS residents from Meharry Medical College and Vanderbilt University.
- Participate in the education and training of residents and medical students.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in compliance with VAMC policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an accredited oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program.
- Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS).
- Unrestricted dental license to practice in the United States.
- Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care to veterans.
