About the Role:

Join our team at Pet Supplies Plus in Lafayette, IN, as a Freshwater Fish & Fish Tank Specialist! You will be the go-to expert for our customers, helping them create vibrant aquatic environments while sharing your passion for fish care.

Responsibilities:

Provide expert advice on freshwater fish species, tank setups, and maintenance.
Assist customers in selecting the right fish, plants, and equipment for their aquariums.
Maintain the health and cleanliness of fish tanks and aquatic displays.
Educate customers on proper fish care, feeding, and tank cycling techniques.
Monitor water quality and perform necessary tests to ensure optimal conditions.
Restock and organize fish supplies and related merchandise on the sales floor.
Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues with professionalism and enthusiasm.
Participate in ongoing training to stay current on freshwater fish care trends.

Requirements:

Previous experience in aquatics or a related retail environment is preferred.
Strong knowledge of freshwater fish species and aquarium maintenance.
Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
Ability to lift and move heavy items, such as aquariums and supplies.
Strong communication skills and a passion for educating others.
Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Basic knowledge of water chemistry and aquarium ecosystems.
Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced retail environment.
