Bookkeeper

$18–$22/hr, based on experience | Full-Time | Monday–Friday, Standard Business Hours

About the Role

We're looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support our financial operations by owning day-to-day bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial processes. You'll be the person keeping our accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activity accurate and audit-ready, reporting directly to the President. What You'll Do

● Enter, review, and reconcile accounting transactions across accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash activity, payroll, and general journal entries

● Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner

● Maintain the general ledger and supporting schedules for accurate financial reporting and audit readiness

● Support month-end and year-end close, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries

● Process daily accounts payable entries, review invoices for accuracy and approval compliance, and ensure timely vendor payments and expense reimbursements

● Create and manage monthly accounts receivable invoices, monitor outstanding balances, and support collections follow-up

● Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies as needed

● Maintain organized, audit-ready financial records and documentation

● Collaborate with the President and management team to ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records

What You'll Need

Education

● Required: High school diploma or equivalent

● Preferred: Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field

Experience

● 4+ years of bookkeeping, accounting, or finance operations experience, including full-cycle accounting transactions and reconciliations

● Preferred: Experience with Sage Contractor 100 and/or QuickBooks; familiarity with contracting or service-based transactions; comfortable working in a lean or growing organization

Skills & Attributes

● Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through

● Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

● Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including reconciliations, sorting/filtering, and basic formulas

● Strong written and verbal communication skills

● High level of integrity and confidentiality

● Ability to work independently and proactively solve problems

Work Environment

● Standard indoor office environment; primarily desk-based

● Minimal to no travel required

● Full-time, Monday through Friday, standard business hours

Compensation

● $18–$22 per hour, based on experience
