Electronics Design & Product Development

Build your engineering skills. Solve real technical challenges. Help develop products for real-world applications.

Finish Line PDS is an established product development engineering firm providing electronics design, PCB development, embedded hardware, prototyping, and testing services to businesses across a range of industries.

We are seeking a Mid-level Electrical Engineer who enjoys hands-on engineering, technical troubleshooting, and developing reliable electronic systems. You will collaborate with experienced engineers on customer projects, contributing to circuit design, PCB development, prototype bring-up, testing, and hardware validation.

This is an opportunity for a mid level electrical engineer with 3-5 years of experience to gain more practical experience across the product development process, strengthen core electronics skills, and grow within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

What You'll Do

Assist with electronic circuit design, component selection, schematic capture, and PCB design.
Build, test, debug, and troubleshoot electronic circuits and prototypes.
Use laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and bench power supplies.
Read component datasheets and help identify solutions to hardware problems.
Support PCB bring-up, design verification, testing, and hardware validation.
Work with microcontrollers, sensors, communication interfaces, and embedded hardware as project needs require.
Collaborate with electrical, firmware, software, and mechanical engineers to develop complete products.
Prepare and maintain schematics, bills of materials, test procedures, and engineering documentation.

What We're Looking For

A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related field, or equivalent relevant technical experience.
Three to five years of relevant experience.
Fundamental knowledge of analog and digital electronics and circuit analysis.
Familiarity with electronic components, schematics, and basic PCB design concepts.
Hands-on experience with electronics through academic projects, internships, personal projects, or professional work.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Skills That Will Make You Stand Out

Experience with PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, or OrCAD.
Familiarity with microcontrollers, embedded systems, sensors, or IoT devices.
Experience with soldering, prototype assembly, circuit debugging, or PCB rework.
Ability to use oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other electronic test equipment.
Experience reading datasheets, selecting components, and documenting test results.

You do not need experience with every tool or technology listed above. We value strong fundamentals, practical curiosity, and the ability to learn.

Why Join Finish Line PDS?

Real engineering experience: Contribute to actual customer product development projects rather than focusing on a single product or narrow task.
Learn from experienced engineers: Develop your technical skills through hands-on work and collaboration.
Broaden your expertise: Gain exposure to electronics, PCB design, embedded hardware, testing, and cross-disciplinary product development.
See products take shape: Help transform engineering concepts into working prototypes and validated designs.
Build your career: Develop the practical skills and engineering judgment needed to take on increasing responsibility.

Ready to Start Your Engineering Career?

If you enjoy understanding how things work, solving technical problems, and turning ideas into functioning hardware, we would like to hear from you.

Apply with your resume. We also welcome examples of academic projects, personal electronics projects, internships, or other hands-on work that demonstrate your engineering abilities.
