Job Description

Litigation Attorney | Boca Raton, FL | $125,000 to $200,000 | Bodily Injury / Personal Injury

Soft tissue cases have a reputation for being boring. That reputation was invented by lawyers who never got to try one.

Put a skeptical jury, a plaintiff with a convincing story and an orthopedic expert with an opinion in the same room and you get some of the most instructive courtroom work there is. Bodily injury defense is where a lot of very good trial lawyers learned their craft.

I'm Ryan Jaiswal with Distinct Recruitment. I'm hiring a Litigation Attorney in Boca Raton for an insurance defense firm with an active bodily injury and personal injury defense practice.

Your role

• Defending bodily injury and personal injury claims arising from auto, premises and other incidents

• Owning your files and making the strategic calls on them

• Analyzing medical treatment and billing, and spotting where damages don't add up

• Deposing plaintiffs, treating physicians and medical experts

• Arguing motions and handling hearings

• Leading mediations and preparing cases for trial

• Trying cases, with real responsibility at counsel table

What you'll bring

• 2+ years of litigation experience

• Florida Bar admission

• Some exposure to BI or PI work helps, from either side

• Confidence cross examining medical witnesses, or the drive to get there

• A sensible approach to managing a busy caseload

The arrangement

• Hybrid working from Boca Raton

• 1,950 billable hours

• $125,000 to $200,000. It's a broad range, purposely, because the firm will look seriously at anyone from 2nd year associate to counsel

The exposure

Ask most BI defense attorneys what they want and they'll tell you: more depositions, more hearings, more trial. This firm builds that into the role. Attorneys handle their own depositions, argue their own motions and get time in the courtroom. You'll work with carriers directly, which means your reputation with clients builds alongside your skills.

Who it suits

• Attorneys who like the medical side of damages

• People who enjoy preparing for a cross examination more than they enjoy finishing one

• Litigators who want trial repetitions rather than promises of trial

• Lawyers who'd like a hybrid working pattern without giving up the courtroom

Why Boca Raton

You get the South Florida market, a strong pipeline of defense work and a city where the commute and lifestyle work in your favor. And with hybrid working, the time you used to spend in traffic can go back into your cases or your life.
